This week's breed is the Cane Corso Mastiff.
Info on the breed can be found by clicking on the title of the post, or by checking out the national breed club website below:
http://www.canecorso.org/
Every week a new breed will have the spotlight and the post will include a link to an informational site describing the breed(just click the post title), and a local adoptable dog of the featured breed.
If at all possible the dogs will be featured from the Mahoning or Trumbull County pounds. They are both extrememly high kill shelters and if the dogs are not adopted they will 100% be put to sleep on their respective Euthenasia dates or very soon there after.
Please feel free to pass along any featured dog.
Did you know that Large Black dogs are often the last to be adopted, if adopted at all, just because of the way they look?

This girl is such a sweetie, she's just a big gangly teenager looking for someone to cuddle with and love her.

*EDIT*
I was at the pound walking dogs today and have a picture and a few more comments to add.
She is SUCH a great girl.
Not too sure how well she’ll react to other dogs though in the kennel and while walking she is VERY interested and barks her head off but doesn’t really posture or show overt aggression so I dunno.
The good news is the head of Canine Crusaders (a rescue that works with the pound - who I’m fostering ace for) is willing to pull her and has her name on her as of now, but she have no where to put her. She already has all the kennels at her home filled and a stack of crates in her house full of recent pulls and no open foster homes.
Still keeping my fingers crossed for this kid.
IF you are interested PLEASE contact the pound from her petfinder page above or Canine Crusaders at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/OH673.html
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TEMPORARILY FOSTERING HER PLEASE CONTACT CANINE CRUSADERS!

Rowena was sucessfully reunited with her owners!
Glad to see a Cane Corso re-united with her mum and dad as they can suffer terribly from separation anxiety.
We have a Cane Corso ourselves and they are by far the sweetest, most loving dog we've ever had the pleasure to own, just check out Blues videos on YouTube under the Channel Name Vincesapplemac
