Breed of the Week - American Foxhound

Welcome to the Tenth installment of "Breed of the Week".

This week's breed is the American Foxhound.

Info on the breed can be found by checking out the American Kennel Club website (just click the title of the post) and the national breed club website below:

http://www.americanfoxhoundclub.com/

Every week a new breed will have the spotlight and the post will include a link to an informational site describing the breed, and a local adoptable dog of the featured breed.

If at all possible the dogs will be featured from the Mahoning or Trumbull County pounds.

They are both extrememly high kill shelters and if the dogs are not adopted they will 100% be put to sleep on their respective Euthenasia dates or very soon there after.

Please feel free to pass along any featured dog.

Did you know there are both American and English Foxhounds? Both breeds developed differences that help them hunt better on the terrains of the seperate countries.
